About the Author

Peta Mathias is a respected and prolific New Zealand chef, author and broadcaster. She started her culinary love affair in Paris with her restaurant Roses Blues, and returned to New Zealand ten years later to teach, cook and write – she has written seven gastronomic travel books. Peta has been presenting the prime time television travel/food show Taste New Zealand for eight years, and in 2003 she was the Supreme Award winner at the New Zealand Guild of Food Writers Culinary Quill Awards.

Laurence Belcher has worked in the television industry for many years. Since 1987 he has been working freelance on a variety of lifestyle programmes. A background in the hospitality industry has enabled Laurence to specialise in food programmes, and he was jointly responsible for the original concept and for setting up Taste New Zealand.
