Delia's Complete How To Cook

Delias Complete How To Cook, ISBN 9780563539070 and books by Delia Smith on sale at thebookshelf.co.nz

It is clear that Britain has never been more in need of being taught how to cook. And Delia, with her straightforward, foolproof approach, is the person to do just that. In How to Cook, a new compilation of her celebrated How to Cook series, Delia will teach you the fundamentals of cooking because, regardless of experience or influence, there must first be a respect for ingredients and an understanding of technique. How to Cook is the ultimate cooking encyclopedia – an incredible kitchen resource with over 700 pages, 350 recipes and step–by–step photography, covering every technique you will ever need. Delias no–nonsense approach and easy–to–follow instructions will teach you to cook staple ingredients using basic methods – how to boil an egg, for example. For more experienced cooks, there is also guidance on building a storecupboard, equipping your kitchen as well as old–fashioned skills such as preserving and ice–cream making. Recipes include classics such as Potted Crab or modern reinventions such as an Oven–Baked Risotto Carbonara as well as Delias innovative fat–free white sauces, so whether you have just left home, are cooking for your family or entertaining your friends, you will find everything you want to know. This is truly a seminal cookbook – and the only one you will need to produce healthy, tasty, but trouble–free and affordable meals for you and your family.
